Twists And Turns

Most roads here in Pennsylvania have many twists and turns. One dear old long past friend used to say they followed a path made by a cow with a sore udder.

Isn't life a little like that. So full of twists and turns it makes the head spin...

You wake up in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee brewing. You smile and thank the heavens that you bought that wonderful automatic coffee maker. You just know that your day is going to be great! Then... You realize! You smell coffee burning. You didn't get the pot put into the coffee maker quite right the night before and it is now sending a raging torrent of coffee all over the counter and floor.

You quickly rise out of bed trying to hurry and so not to much of a mess will be made. You stub your toe on the leg of the bed, nearly fall to your death as you rush down the steps. Make your way to the kitchen and what do you find? The stupid dumb butt coffee maker is now done and an ocean of coffee is now spread from one wall to the other. Instead of enjoying a nice delictable hot cup of morning wake me up. Your now cursing the day you ever started to drink the evil brew and fell in love with it!

Or you wake up in a good mood and ready for the day ahead with smiles because it's Friday. You get ready and leave for work and what is that I see? Oh, a tree from my orchard laying straight across the road because of the storm last night. So now you know you'll be late for work and your day is off to becoming a nightmare.

Now you have to turn around. Get the chainsaw from the basement and spend the next half hour cutting the tree free from what's left of the trunk and hooking it up to the truck with a chain, the pull it off of the road to the safety of the field. Never mind that you called the boss and told him you would be late because of a tree, but then he says your just making excuses...

Yup, the kind of things that just make a day so perfect...

Then just about the time you think you have a plan for your life and the sailing will begin to smooth to a pleasure cruise. Darned if someone or something doesn't come along and stir up the waters and bring change to your fair weather plans.

Or the weather man shows you maps and charts with lots of pretty sunny pictures that show no rain for a week. So out you go and mow down acres of hay, ready to have plenty of time to let it dry so it will have the proper dryness and best nutrition, to store for your hungry sweet cows to munch on this coming winter. No sooner do you get finished mowing and darned if you don't see dark stormy looking clouds appearing over the tops of the mountains and their headed right your way...

Oh millions and zillions of other things go wrong just to change the course of your life. They're just out there to ruin your day.

Well OK, not really. Things just happen. No rhyme or reason, they just do. Yet a world where nothing went wrong would more than likely get really boring. Nothing could be good because nothing could be bad. As the old scientific thing goes. Where there is an action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

But common! I'd like to find out for myself... Just one month or even a week, where all the stars align to make my life completely free of problems and twists and turns. Now wouldn't that be a nice vacation?

Oh but wait... An equal and opposite reaction? Never mind I'll take the twist and turns one day at a time. I wouldn't want them all back to back for a week or a month just to bring things back into balance!

So while I go through my day navigating all the twists and turns that are thrown my way, writhing in my agony, smile because we all go through this dance of life together...

Now before you go, how about clicking on that Join button and showing us your smiling face. We're all family here in this world. We all have similar problems and lives. We all put up with idiotic decisions made by our governments. But we all need each other to make a better world possible...
